Low Cost Counselling with Sarah

Sarah’s counselling is part of Sojourn Counselling and Neurofeedback’s low-cost counselling program, which helps make therapy more accessible while maintaining a high standard of supervised clinical care. This may be a good fit if you are looking for affordable support for emotional overwhelm, relationship concerns, parenting stress, family challenges, life transitions, identity development, grief, trauma, anxiety, or personal growth.

Clients who are unsure where to begin may also explore our broader counselling services or learn more about how online therapy can provide flexible access to care across BC.

Sarah’s Counselling Approach

Sarah’s approach is emotion-focused, trauma-informed, and grounded in attachment theory. She brings a systemic and relational lens to counselling, recognizing that people are shaped by relationships, family systems, cultural contexts, social pressures, past experiences, and adaptive patterns that may once have helped but are no longer working.

In therapy, Sarah makes space for noticing, discovering, grieving, integrating, and gently shifting these patterns. Her work is especially aligned with clients who want to better understand themselves, feel more emotionally grounded, and develop more secure and responsive relationships.

Sarah draws from Emotionally Focused Therapy, AEDP, Child-Centred Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy, attachment theory, somatic interventions, and nervous system co-regulation. Her approach may be especially helpful for clients seeking anxiety counselling, support with emotional regulation, trauma therapy, or relational healing.

Counselling for Individuals

For individuals, Sarah offers a compassionate space to explore emotions, stress, identity, grief, transition, cultural belonging, relational patterns, and the parts of life that feel difficult to carry alone. She works with clients to build greater self-understanding, strengthen emotional resilience, and reconnect with their inner capacity for growth.

Clients looking for individual support may also want to explore our individual counselling page, which explains how one-on-one therapy can support healing, self-awareness, and personal change.

Couples and Relationship Counselling

With couples, Sarah works to support greater emotional accessibility, responsiveness, and engagement. Her approach helps partners slow down reactive patterns, understand the emotions underneath conflict, and begin rebuilding connection in ways that feel safer and more secure.

Sarah’s work with couples is informed by attachment theory and Emotionally Focused Therapy. Couples seeking support with disconnection, communication breakdown, recurring conflict, or emotional distance may also find it helpful to read more about couples counselling in Surrey.

Parenting, Children, and Family Therapy

Sarah also works with parents, children, and families. She supports parents in becoming more confident, emotionally responsive, and connected with their children. With children, Sarah draws from play-based and experiential approaches that allow children to express feelings, process experiences, and build emotional capacity in developmentally appropriate ways.

Families seeking support may benefit from Sarah’s systemic training and her experience with children, parenting support, and family therapy. Related services include family counselling, child and youth counselling, and play therapy.

Support for Transition, Displacement, and Cultural Identity

Drawing from her background in settlement services and her research interests, Sarah has a particular interest in supporting people navigating displacement, transition, acculturation, and cultural identity development. She approaches this work with cultural humility, genuineness, and respect for the complexity of each person’s story.

Sarah’s experience supporting newcomer adults and diverse communities informs her ability to hold space for clients who are making sense of belonging, identity, loss, adaptation, and change.

Training and Clinical Interests

Sarah is completing her Master’s degree in Couples and Family Therapy at Trinity Western University. Her training includes couples and family therapy theories, systemic interventions, group counselling, play therapy, family therapy with children and teens, trauma-informed therapy, counselling diverse populations, human sexuality, embodiment and therapy, and psychopathology.

She has also completed training in sand tray therapy and grief group facilitation, and she has clinical experience supporting children, couples, parents, families, and individual clients in supervised settings.
